First Crawl!

On August 14th you started to crawl. It was so cool to see you moving across the floor. It won't be long and you will be walking. Daddy Loves U!

Eating Solids

Daddy and I have been trying to feed you solids for weeks and you arch your back, lock up your lips, and gag!  So I couldn't believe it when Aunt C came over yesterday and you just opened your mouth right up and let her feed you!!! She must have the special touch!!

Shopping Cart

You went shopping with Mommy and Daddy this weekend to buy plants and you had your first shopping cart ride! You are absolutley adorable and such a good baby!

Starting to Crawl

Hey Sweetie! Well you are sooo wanting to get up and move lately!  I see you put your knees under yourself and move back and forth... you are soooo close.  You get frustrated cause you just can't figure out what to do next.  There will be many times in your life like this.  BUT DON'T STOP TRYING just because you are afraid of what the outcome will be.  If you know you want to do it and you know it is the right thing to do then just keep pushing! You can achieve it all Harper! Your daddy and I are already so proud of the little girl that you are and we know you are going to be a great women some day! :)

1st Farmers Tan

We went to Nags Head with Nana, Grandpa, Aunt Courtney and the boys and you got your first farmers tan at the beach. You love the water and had a good time. You were an amazing baby on vacation and we couldn't thank you enough! Daddy Loves U!

Rollin' Over

Thanks for my present!

I wanted to thank you for my father's day present. You and mommy got me a swing for the boat and I love it. It looks like a fighting chair and hangs from the rod holders....we will have lots of fun with it on the boat. I really need to be thanking you sweetie, because the real gift has been YOU! I am so proud and lucky to be your daddy. You and your mommy are the best thing that has ever happened in my life and can't wait for many more memories. Daddy Loves U!

5 months old and catching fish already!

Hey Nugget, a few weeks ago I took you rock fishing with grandpa, nana, aunt Courtney and the boys...we had a good time and caught a few fish. You seemed to like the boat and of course you were as good as gold for me. Check you out in chair...a natural!!!Daddy Loves U!

First Boat Ride

This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and we had SUCH a blast! Dad and I had our 6 year anniversary!! YAY! But you being here made it all the more special! 

Sunday we took you out on Brian and Lindsey's Boat for your first trip to factory point! You actually slept the whole time we were at the beach!

Monday we went to the pool with Nanna and Aunt Courtney and the boys!  You LOVED the water!  I think you are a natural swimmer.  Even if you aren't good at something right away always remember to keep trying! Practice makes perfect.  Hard work pays off!

Hi Harper....You have started to grab your feet when you lay on your back. You also are starting to sit up but not quite on your own yet. Before we know it you will be crawling around raising cane. Can't wait! Daddy Loves U!

The Glider!

Hey Harper...the last two days I have been rocking you in the glider while playing the ipod and I think you love it. I know that I love it! You are so calm and peaceful in your room for some reason. Now the story of the glider....Your mom wanted a glider and me your dad being a penny pincher did not want to buy a new one so I stopped by a thrift store one day and wouldn't you know, there it is...a glider for $25 bucks. So we got it. Your mom did not like the color of the cushions so your auntie C and uncle Chris got them recovered for us. Then Pepe' added some wood strips on the bottom to raise it up so it wouldn't rub the floor. So there's been a few hands in the glider and I know you appreciate every ones help. Daddy loves u!

Hold On Tight!!!

This weekend Memere and GG were here and boy did I feel like you learned all kinds of new things!  Yesterday I was watching you on your play mat and you started grabbing on to the rings like you were an expert! I also realized you LOVE the color GREEN! You watch Baby Einsteins on DVD and every time something green comes on whether it is a dinosaur, grapes, or a ball you were smiling at it!

This weekend we named your little toy lion Luther.  I asked you a few different names and when I said Luther you smiled! So he is Luther the Lion!  Which is super funny cause that is Grandpa's name!

Sunday Funday

Today is a Sunday and boy it was soooo beautiful outside! I had to work and then go to a baby shower for a sorority sister, Marisa who is having a little boy in May. Daddy had to go up to the hunt club (you will find out about that when your a lil bigger).  So you spent the morning with Aunt C and Colton and the afternoon with Nana, Aunt Courtney, Chase, and Gage.  You all went for a walk and played! They said you smiled and cued all day! I just love hearing your little voice! 

I thought about you a lot today!  I can't believe how much you are growing, changing, and I feel like you will be a walking talking little girl before I know it!  I pray that this world is good to you and you good to it! Be a kind and giving person.  Always find ways to help the people around you without anticipation of something in return!! You will get very far in life if you just remember those words!

Congrats for Daddy!

Today daddy took his certified residential appraiser state board for the third time and guess what....I passed!!! So this a good lesson for you to never give up when you really want and need to accomplish something important. There will always be speed bumps along the way but keep your eye on the prize and you can do anything. The best part of this day was when I walked threw the door and there you were holding a balloon for daddy!! I loved it! Thank you sweetie! Daddy Loves U!

So today daddy strapped you into the running stroller and we went for your first run. It was a little chilly outside so I bundled you up in the brown suit Uncle Chris got you and off we went. I hope you had a good time. Daddy Loves U!

Shots! Oh No!

Hey Sweetie...on Wedsnesday March 2nd you got your first set of shots and I thought you did an awesome job. You did scream for a minute but then you calmed down and were ok. On this day you weighed 12.7 lbs and you were 23 inches long. Your weight was in the 90th percentile, your length was in the 75th percentile and your head was in the 50th percentile. Doctor Kurd came in, checked you out and said you were a healthy baby; which we can all see that you chunkie munkie! Here is a pic of you right after the shot. Daddy Loves You!

Office Days

Today you are in the office with me and being such a good girl!  Everyone in the office loves you.  Here is a picture with you and your new best friend "Hip Hop".

Weekend with Memere and Pepere

Well we just finished a GREAT weekend with Memere & Pepere and I can officially say they are absolutely in love with you!  Pepere hadn't seen you since you were 2 days old and he couldn't believe how much you had changed already.

You got to spend a lot of time with your cousin Colton as well, since you were at Aunt C and Uncle "Rico's" house.  He couldn't stop staring at you! Plus I believe you are talking more now because he talks ALL the time! I think he is teaching you his tricks!

You have really found your smile in the last week or so!  Your happiest time of day is the morning and of course as soon as you see Daddy! :)  But Memere and Pepere sure did get a lot of smiles this weekend and I know they were tickled to death! 

Smiling is great therapy! Remember that as you get older!  If you having a bad day try forcing yourself to smile for a whole minute... then remember happiness is a choice.  Choose to be HAPPY!

The First of Many!

Hi Harper! Its my first post and I'm excited, honored, and most of all completely in love with my baby daughter. I never thought I could love someone as much as I love your mom but you have certainly proven that wrong. Now that you are here I can't imagine having any other baby other than you. You are everything in a baby girl I could have ever wished for as a dad. Before you were born I was a little nervous about having a baby and how things would change. But once I layed my eyes on you the nerves immediately turned to JOY! You are my perfect little "nugget"! This is the first of many posts your mom and I will share with you on our new journey together!

On a side note, just so you know I wanted to tell you a few "first" for you as of these last six weeks you've been around; you and mommy had a girls sleep over party; your first walk was with mommy, Aunt C, and Colton; you went to your first Super Bowl party at Nina's (Steelers vs. Packers-Packers won); last but not least, the first man you ever had wrapped around your finger was your Daddy! Daddy loves you!

JUST DO IT!

This is my first post on the blog.  I am so excited about this and I hope that you feel the excitement and enthusiasm we have about it! Today is a beautiful day outside and as I struggle to get enough energy to even get dressed I have been laying on the couch all morning working on the blog template while you sleep in your swing (which you love thanks to Mary and Will Powell). 

My first life lesson is to JUST DO IT! After weeks of cold weather and being sick I find myself contemplating getting ready and taking you for a walk. However if I were to let this day pass, as I have done many times in the past I would regret it! I would look back and say "why didn't I just do it".  So just do it.  There is only 24 hours in a day but there IS 24 hours in a day... so use them! Love ya!
